Environmental Awareness – Snakes in our environment

On the 4th of January 2024, Rossmin environmental team started the year on a high note. Sarah Allan did a presentation on different environmental aspects, rules & regulations regarding the environment that we are working in. We cannot run away from the fact that we co-exist with animals (fauna) and plants (flora) as well. We do our best to ensure that we don’t harm the surrounding ecosystems and habitats while we also focus on yielding maximum productivity.

On the same day, Nkosiyazi Nzimande (Environmental student & Nokwanda Cekwana (Quality manager)) invited Pure Venom to come and explain to workers how to deal with snakes that are common to our mine area. It was an interesting and informative experience. Workers were taught how to identify snakes based on colour, size, shape, and habitats and are now aware which are venomous and non-venomous snakes and how to react to them. Capture and Release is the Rossmin way!
